Cedar Eaters of Texas dba Legacy Homestead Development
Too many cedars? We mulch cedars completely down to ground level

REGROWTH OF CEDARS:

Brad Whitfield
Ranch Manager, Broken O Ranch

JULY 25,2005
The Cedar Eater mulched hundreds of cedars at the Broken O Ranch in 2001 to 2003. We had also used a bulldozer to clear some of the land during the same time. Four years later we are faced with an unbelievable amount of regrowth cedar resulting from the bulldozing and very little from the Cedar Eater. I believe the tracks of the dozer aerated the ground and scattered the cedar berries allowing them to germinate! The Cedar Eater did not scatter, had reduced soil disturbance and mulch prevented the berries from germination. I am a firm believer that the Cedar Eater is the best way to reduce cedar in the area!
GROWTH FROM CEDAR EATER CLEARED LAND
Mulch is deteriorating
Grass is growing
GROWTH FROM BULLDOZED CLEARED LAND

Cedars are regrowing exponentially
Rocky soil has inhibited the grass growth

Recycles cedar wasteland into a productive grassy watershed. (1 acre of cedar can waste over 50,000 gallons
of water per year)

"The Cedar Eater is an amazing piece of equipment; we have reclaimed hundreds of acres including hill tops, bottom areas and open pasture land. Cedars are reduced to mulch with no damage to the ground. New grass has started to grow and the property looks 100% better. The Cedar Eater is the only way to go!"
