CEDAR EATERS

Restoring Land Today For A Better Tomorrow

Cedar Eaters of Texas has been the industry leader in environmentally-friendly land restoration services since 2001. With decades of experience and nearly 300,000 hours of seat time logged in forestry mulching machines, Cedar Eaters is one of the most experienced mulching companies in the country. We cover the entire state of Texas and occasionally reach outside of the state. The Cedar Eaters team takes great pride in leaving a positive impact on both the land we service and each customer we encounter. Owning property is hard work and the biggest challenge when brush control is a majority of maintaining your land.

Cedar Eaters specializes in cedar and brush mulching, mesquite grubbing, and hand crew cutting and chipping. Our Cedar Eater™ mulching machines obliterate standing vegetation quickly and with minimal soil disturbance. The "Mulching Method" leaves behind a layer of beneficial mulch that promotes healthy habitat recovery in multiple ways. Not only does mulch help prevent erosion of the soil but it seals in moisture and nutrients, helping native grasses and desirable trees (like oaks) get the elements they need to flourish.

Cedar Eaters Estimate process is more of an orientation to your property. This is where we learn what your vision is and explain our processes in order to help you achieve your vision. During this time, we will also make recommendations on how to simplify the clearing process in order to get you the BIGGEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK.

CEDAR EATERS LAND CLEARING SERVICES

Cedar Mulching

We primarily focus on cedar clearing in the Texas Hill Country because of cedar’s incredible ability to “gobble up” pasture land in this area. These trees are extremely drought-tolerant and can consume up to 33 gallons of water per day. It is estimated that 1 acre of cedar can consume up to 50,000 gallons of water per year.

Mesquite Grubbing

With the Mesquite Grubber we can help turn a mesquite wasteland into productive grassland by grubbing your unwanted vegetation out by the root. We can do this with two types of equipment. We have a large excavator with a specially patented grubbing attachment and retractable thumb for those with a large mesquite problem.

Hand Crew Cutting & Chipping

The Cedar Eaters hand guys are the true work horses of the business. When they aren’t working alongside one of our mulching machines they can often be found on one of our smaller chipper jobs. They can perform a variety of activities from cutting understory to promote a healthy bird habitat to hand grubbing cactus to regain old pasture land.

WHAT CEDAR EATER™ CLIENTS SAY:

  • Cedar Eaters of Texas came out, gave me a bid, and performed the work on time and budget. Now, five years later, much of the cleared areas are covered with native grasses, that came back naturally without any reseeding. I am very pleased with the results and would definitely recommend Cedar Eaters of Texas.

    Paul A.

  • The Cedar Eater is an amazing piece of equipment; we have reclaimed hundreds of acres including hill tops, bottom areas and open pasture land. Cedars are reduced to mulch with no damage to the ground. New grass has started to grow and the property looks 100% better. The Cedar Eater is the only way to go!

    - Joe M.

  • Wonderful job on my property at Cool Water Ranch near Fredericksburg, I took about 30 pics and will definitely tell anyone out there in the Hill Country who asks about it. It doesn't even look like the same cedar-overgrown land and I have more alternatives on positioning a house... a lesson for the developer--he could have probably gotten 30% more from me had he done it!! Thanks so much, it is amazing.

    - Kyle W.

  • I would like to say thank you to Roger and his crew for the excellent work on my lot in Hunt. It looks terrific and is now ready for utility service to be run. I will recommend Cedar Eaters of Texas to others in the area working on similar projects.

  • I want to thank you all so much for your outstanding service. The results are beyond my wildest expectation. You guys are truly the “Michelangelo of the Hill Country”, shaping my cedar dumpsite into beautiful rolling hills.

    - Oliver K.M.

  • “Our experience was excellent. Your operator understood what we wanted to accomplish and truly exceeded our expectations. He is an excellent communicator. Further, he recognized the cost we were incurring and kept the machine running to maximize his daily production. If you ever need a demo property in our area, feel free to call. Thanks for great service."

    Doug K, Bosque County

  • “Hiring Cedar Eaters was one of the best choices we've made for clearing our property. Spence is a very honest & dependable person. He & I got together & formulated a plan & then they worked that plan & we, together, would make adjustments as needed. The communication was outstanding and they did a fantastic job for us. I would recommend them to whomever is in need of some land clearing! Thank you Spence & your team!”
