Our Owners

Meet the owners of Cedar Eaters of Texas: Pam and Stan Hegener, who founded the Company in April 2001. Before Cedar Eaters, they managed a large (500+ employee) industrial construction/pipeline company in Louisiana for over 15 years--so they bring a lot of experience to the table! Pam brings a background in HR and Business Management while Stan has a background in Industrial Construction and Operations.

They originally intended to retire in the Texas Hill Country and bought a ranch and one small mulching machine to help manage their brush. Over time, they saw a growing need in the community for these brush clearing services and created a Company from this need. In 2016, they expanded their operations and moved their headquarters from a small property in Bergheim, Texas to a larger, 10-acre property right on the Guadalupe River in Comfort, Texas. They now have a whole fleet of Cedar Eater™ machines and service the entire state of Texas. (They also venture into Oklahoma and New Mexico on occasion, if the job is large enough.)

The Hegeners know from personal experience that, given good market timing, you have the potential to increase the value of your land investment, by investing in the cedar clean-up of your property. "We take pride in finding ways to make the land clearing process as proficient as possible while leaving behind a minimal environmental footprint."

Their son, Spence Hegener, is now part owner and Operations Manager at the Company. He recently moved his family to the Waco area and opened a North Division of Cedar Eaters based in Clifton, TX. He plans to continue to grow the family business into the next generation and beyond.
