Core Values

What will you be known for when you leave this earth?   What legacy will you leave behind?

cedar eater team core values

Every person leaves a legacy behind—good or bad. Our choices as a person (or in our case, as an organization) will determine which direction we take and what kind of legacy we leave. These choices, and subsequent actions, can either take us further or hopefully, closer to the path we have envisioned. At Cedar Eaters of Texas, we want to leave a positive legacy behind; a legacy of land stewardship, of respect for the environment, of excellence in all that we do. To accomplish this, we must know who we are and what we value.

At Cedar Eaters of Texas, we value:

  1. Passion & Commitment
  2. Teamwork
  3. Honesty & Integrity
  4. Hard Work and Professionalism
  5. Respect for People and the Environment

1.) We at Cedar Eaters have Passion and Commitment for our Brand. We try to achieve, “The Wow Experience” – every time! We want our Customers to be impressed by the entire process, from start to finish. Same day follow-up is key and what sets us apart from our competitors. Our employees are committed to the Company and the Company is committed to them. That mutual commitment helps us to succeed and grow together. We show up to work every day, ready to make a positive impact on the land and on each Customer we encounter.

2.) We at Cedar Eaters attribute our success to Teamwork. We like to say that, “A good assist is often more satisfying than getting the goal yourself.” We strive to be flexible, to work long hours when necessary, to be willing to do tasks that are outside of our normal job descriptions—for the greater good of the Team! We strive to teach and learn from one another every day. We adapt and adjust as things change—and they often do! We have a, “Can Do!” attitude and it’s contagious. We only hire people who want to be a team player and who are a valuable asset to our Cedar Eater Team.

3.) We at Cedar Eaters embody Honesty and Integrity in everything that we do. If there’s one thing we take to the grave with us, it’s our good name and reputation. We uphold the Company’s reputation at all costs! We use the Company’s time, money and assets wisely and responsibly. We maintain open and honest lines of communication with everyone we meet—our customers, our vendors, our neighbors, our fellow employees. We align our words with our actions. We are true to the Customer and the Company.

4.) We at Cedar Eaters believe in Hard Work and Professionalism. We exhibit ethical and professional conduct every day. We are organized and detail-oriented. We are dedicated to using the latest and most state-of-the-art technology. We believe that opportunity should be based on merit and promote from within wherever possible. With hard work, anything is possible; the sky is the limit! If you don’t want to get your hands dirty, you don’t belong here. Cedar Eaters’ employees are hard workers. We are dedicated to the task at hand.

5.) We at Cedar Eaters Treat People and the Environment with Respect. We abide by the “Platinum Rule” (instead of the Golden Rule) which says you should treat others as they wish to be treated. We listen to listen, not just to reply. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate based on gender, nationality or religion. We value courtesy, politeness and consideration and hire people who share these values. We believe passionately in what we do for the Environment. We respect the land and try to restore a natural balance. In many way, the land we leave behind is part of our legacy. If we love our children, then it is our responsibility to respect the land and to be a good steward of land we own.

“Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones.
A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you.” – S. Adler

This is why we are passionate and committed to the Company, why we work together as a team, why we are honest, why we work hard, why we respect others and the environment—because this is our story. This is the legacy we want to pass on to the next generation. As a family-owned business, we plan to continue generation after generation. Over the past two decades, we have built a strong foundation and a powerful reputation in the industry. We know who we are and what we value. We know where we’re going. We are excited and hope you will go with us as we continue on this journey.
