Cedar Eaters owner in SA Woman Magazine

Cedar Eaters owner Pam Hegener was recently featured in San Antonio Woman Magazine's "Thriving in the Hill Country" Spring issue which highlights successful women living in and around Boerne and Comfort, Texas.

“Never say never,” or in the case of Pam Hegener, “Never say retire,” because that is exactly what happened when she and her husband moved to the Texas Hill Country in 2001. Hegener explains they were more than ready and had every intention of doing so when making their move from Louisiana to the Boerne area after years of running a large industrial construction/pipeline company. But you could say the role of the business owner came looking for them once again. It all started when they began...

Meet the Owners of Cedar Eaters

Pam brings a background in HR and Business Management while Stan has a background in Industrial Construction and Operations.

They originally intended to retire in the Texas Hill Country and bought a ranch and one small mulching machine to help manage their brush. Over time, they saw a growing need in the community...

Why "Cedar Eaters"?

Cedar Eaters of Texas is the industry leader in environmentally-friendly land restoration. We specialize in many different land clearing services that are designed to address various needs of landowners across the state. The main service we offer is cedar and brush mulching. This is where our trademarked name “Cedar Eaters” comes from. Although tree removal is oftentimes seen as having a “negative” impact on the environment, this is not the case when it comes to cedar removal. Cedar, while native to Texas, has been allowed to run rampant the past few decades and has overgrown to the point that it is affecting other plant life including hardwood trees (like oaks) and native grasses. Sometimes it’s difficult to explain the benefits of cedar mulching because there are several factors involved, so we created this handy-dandy infographic to visually show a comparison between land that is cleared of cedar and land that is infested with cedar:

We are based in Kerr County near Comfort, TX, however, we provide land clearing services in all of the Texas Hill Country as well as North Texas, South Texas, and Central Texas. Below is a list of counties that we frequent.
